Our mission is to create awareness and develop resources that will help dignify and enhance the lives of people affected by mental illness, whether they are experiencing it personally or trying to be the best possible friend, family member or advocate for someone who is.

By building an active online community that shares stories, information, news, actions, and ideas, we can work together to create changes that make a real difference in the lives of the people we love — and People Like You and Me.

Sharing our stories is the first step to turning our challenges into triumphs. We have to get this conversation started, because we're the only ones who know how we feel, and what we need to help care for the people we love who experience mental illness and for ourselves. We can change things if we work together.

ABOUT PLUM

PLUM was born as an outlet for turning frustration, sadness and anger into positive action. Let's face it, we've all been there at one time or another. People Like You and Me recognize the need for change. PLUM was founded as a way to make the change happen.

WE BELIEVE WE CAN:

Help change the way people talk about mental illness, and with that bring awareness where there is currently way too much ignorance

Make life more rewarding and comfortable for our loved ones who deal with mental illnesses

Help families and friends of people with mental illness feel more capable, supported and less isolated

And one day, perhaps, we can affect some change in the way rules and regulations limit or eliminate parental rights for our over-18-year-old sons and daughter who need state-committed health care and living situations

MORE ABOUT PLUM

IT'S TIME TO GET THIS

CONVERSATION STARTED.

SHARING OUR STORIES

As the founders of PLUM, we hope that by telling our story we will encourage others to speak up and tell their own. Hearing about other peoples' experiences will help us all feel less isolated, and we will be able to identify important issues for action. Then we'll get busy making change happen for People Like You and Me...and the people we love who have mental illnesses.

WE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT IT,

NOT AROUND IT.
